Mission Statement
Our aim at John Port School is to ensure that pupils journey to and from school is safe and pleasant.


Student Expectations
In order to make the bus/coach journey as safe and pleasant as possible it is important that students:
  • Behave in a responsible manner at all times
  • Whilst waiting for the bus/coach to arrive remain calm and courteous to other students and members of the community
  • Enter the bus/coach sensibly, sit down quickly and remain seated for the duration of your journey
  • Ensure that passes are up to date, showing the correct information and shown to bus/coach driver
  • Ensure that seat belts are worn at all times
  • Refrain from disruptive behaviour that jeopardises the safety of others and the capacity of the bus/coach driver to do his job. This may include standing up, walking around, throwing objects, shouting, swearing and playing loud music
  • Accept the instructions of bus/coach drivers
  • Keep the bus/coach tidy at all times
  • Not to cause damage to the bus/coach.

Parents & Guardians
Unsafe and discourteous picking up and dropping off can jeopardise the safety of our students. If you are picking up/dropping off could you please refrain from:
  • Parking Illegally
  • Driving quickly. It is recommended that 20 mph is a safe speed in a school zone.
  • Double parking
  • Blocking the entrances and exits of the school

Sixth Formers
If you are driving to and from school you must use sixth form car park. This is located next to the leisure centre. As ambassadors for John Port School it is imperative that you drive/park in a safe and sensible manner.
