Year 7

Students get used to working in the new surroundings of the workshops. Projects are undertaken in order to develop thinking and designing skills while practical skills are gained in order to realise their ideas. Students study Design & Technology for 2 hours a week. 

Year 8

For the first time students start to study Food Technology, building up their skills in nutrition and in the kitchen. Pupils complete more advanced Electronics projects in Design and Technology, including a power MP3 speaker. Students study Design & Technology for 2 hours a week, and Food Technology for 1 hour.

Year 9

Pupils tackle projects that give them a more accurate flavour of what the different disciplines in Design and Technology offer at KS4. Long term study projects replace homeworks, which are leveled to ensure students reach their potential in the subject. Students study Design & Technology for 1 hours a week. and Food Technology for 1 hour.
