The Art, Design & Textiles Department
Art enables students to become visually literate, to develop skills and imagination and to become more visually aware of the world in which they live. The Art Department aims to promote the enjoyment of Art, Craft and Design for all pupils. We encourage creativity, imagination, presentation skills and powers of observation whilst developing a wide range of Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) for all of our students.
The Art Department has 5 teachers and a technician. Staff have specialisms in Fine Art, Textiles and Ceramics and teaches on average a quarter of the School at exam level each year. We offer the following specialist Art subjects at KS4 and KS5; GCSE Art and Design, GCSE Textiles, ABC Art and Design, AS and A2 Level Fine Art and AS and A2 Level Textiles.
