Expressive Arts

The Expressive Arts Faculty at John Port School is a lively and a very busy faculty which encompasses Art, Textiles, Music, Drama and Dance. We aim to give every student the opportunity of being creative in as many media as possible. All students are able to follow this creativity to GCSE, BTEC and A Level.

Students in the faculty achieve well in both academic and social respects. The ethos of personal fulfilment through the arts is something that all staff engender in their students. It is this philosophy which brings students into the faculty to see exhibitions and watch performances and recitals outside of the school curriculum.

The faculty has a long tradition of educational visits including international exchanges, galleries, museums, performances and recitals. All of which are a testament to the student's desire to engage with Expressive Arts and the hard working effort of the Expressive Arts Staff.
