Mathematics

Welcome to the mathematics faculty of John Port School. The faculty is based in the Ashbourne building with 13 dedicated teaching rooms and has 1 excellent computer suite each of which has projection technology. All pupils and staff work closely to ensure that teaching and learning takes place effectively within the classroom. The mathematics staff are an enthusiastic  and dedicated group whose mission it is to help every child fulfil their potential.

The faculty offer opportunities beyound the curriculum: 

• Maths inspiration afternoons for some GCSE and A-Level classes
• Offering team maths challenges which are run in conjuction with Keele University 
• Allowing higher ability students to take part in the junior, intermediate and senior maths challenges
• Students can become apart of World Maths Day
