Brilliant Book Award
The Brilliant Book Award is organised by Nottinghamshire Education Library Service to promote reading in Years 7, 8 and 9. Students taking part aim to read all six shortlisted books before they vote to choose the winning book in March. Our Brilliant Book Award group have been working very hard over the last few months to read the shortlisted books, with many having finished all six!
On Wednesday 8th March, the students involved got the opportunity to travel to Rushcliffe School to meet one of the Brilliant Book Award authors, Christopher Edge. After reading and thoroughly enjoying his book The Many Worlds of Albie Bright, the students were really excited for the opportunity to listen to Christopher discuss his inspiration behind the story. A key theme in the book is the idea of parallel worlds and the theory of Quantum Physics, which naturally left the students full of exciting questions to ask. After listening to his presentation and hearing about his new book The Jamie Drake Equation, many students got copies of his book signed as a lasting memory of the day.
