We have finally arrived at the end of this very busy term. The last few weeks have been full of activity and celebration across the Year groups
December 12th was our Enrichment day which gave our Year 10 students the opportunity to have an interview with outside employers to help with their future planning and the world or work. Year 7 worked on Team building and bullying, Year 8 looked at crime and safety awareness, Year 9 were looking at mental Health and the Options process and Year 12 went on a visit to Staffordshire University.
December the 12th was also our festive jumper day in aid of Save the Children and also Christmas Lunch day. Lunch was a huge success with a very large number of students opting for the lunch this year, some even ate the Brussel sprouts!
December the 13th was our annual Christmas concert. It was a very enjoyable evening and we all left in the Christmas spirit. There a wide range of performers including the senior and junior band, the string ensemble and the Year 7 choir and amazing performance by Lennon and Todd. Silence crossed the hall during the performance by Aaron Titterton singing one of the numbers from Beauty and the Beast, the school production, in which he is performing in February. The quality of his performance was outstanding and I would suggest you buy tickets before they are sold out!
Year 7 had another sell out disco and they had a wonderful night, I did notice the staff didn’t look quite as lively as the students the following day!
Tuesday 18th December was senior prizegiving evening, where students were awarded for achievement and effort from the examinations this summer. It was wonderful to see so many students back from university collecting their prizes. The evening was very well supported by parents, staff and the governors.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and I wish you all a restful Christmas and prosperous New Year.
