We are all really proud of the Year 8 boy’s football team on winning the County cup! The boys beat Moor Farm 5-0 in the final. Congratulations to all the students involved and a huge. Thank you to Mr Collier for supporting the team.
The sun has made a reappearance and the students are now back on the field at lunchtime. The girls sit in groups chatting and eating their lunch, however the boys are expending their energy rolling around on the grass and rolling down the slopes. We do try to stop them, however I am aware that we don’t manage to stop them all some parents are having an increased washing load! Please speak to your children directly if this is a problem.
The stress is rising for Year 11 now the GCSE exams have commenced. There are comforting and calming words on the corridors from all staff as we prepare them for the forthcoming exams. The GCSE art and textiles examinations have gone well this week and next week there are oral examinations taking place. The students are approaching the examinations is a mature and purposeful way and I congratulate them for that.
I have seen some amazing work in lessons this week and students are always keen to present their work to us. I would ask however that over the bank holiday weekend, students get organised and ensure they have the essential equipment for all lessons as a growing number of students are arriving without the basics of a pen and a pencil!
I have again been visiting the food lessons and I am astounded by the quality of work produced by Year 8. (However they are still not prepared to share!)
