GCSE Results Day 2017
We are delighted and proud with the GCSE results at John Port School this year. Although GCSE’s in English and mathematics have been reformed and contain more challenging content, the results students have achieved are of a very high standard.
75% of all students achieved a pass (grade 4 - 9) in English, 74% of students achieved a ‘standard’ pass in mathematics and 70% achieved a pass in both English and mathematics, this is an 18% increase from last year.
With the additional rigour in the reformed GCSE’s, we are pleased that 9 students achieved A* and A, or equivalent, in all of their subjects.
We are also delighted that the ‘Attainment 8’ and ‘Progress 8’ figures for the school have improved significantly from last year
Phil Smith, Acting Headteacher, said ‘John Port School’s performance is very high this year and these results are testimony to the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. I would like to pass on my congratulations to all of the students and I am incredibly proud that their hard work has been rewarded.’
