Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The John Port Spencer Academy Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a charity body relying on volunteers. Key events in the school calendar such as the Year 7 discos, Quiz Nights and PTA managed bars/cafes at school performances are only possible because of the commitment of volunteers. This school year alone, the PTA will organise or support a total of 25 school events!

Just by attending events you are supporting the work of the PTA as every penny raised is channelled back into the school, providing funding for equipment or student opportunities that would not otherwise be possible from normal budget allocation.

Recently, the PTA were able to support requests ranging from library magazine subscriptions to larger investments such as defibrillators across the site and the corridor seating in Edale building.

For more info about getting involved (even if you can just spare an hour in the school year!) or if you are a staff member looking to make an application to be considered for funding, please do not hesitate to email us:

The PTA has a Facebook page (JohnPortSpenderAcademyPTA) where we post about our events and projects. Please 'like' our page and sign up for notifications so you can keep up to date with these.
