Thursday 4th January – Y9 Options Evening
The evening opens at 4:30pm and will consist of three identical presentations, giving an overview of the options process, in Chatsworth Hall. The timings are detailed below. If the time allocated to your child’s form group is inconvenient for you, please attend an earlier/later presentation. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions after the presentation. Teaching staff will be available and will be happy to share details about the courses they deliver and answer any questions that you/your child may have. There will also be members of the leadership team available in Edale if you wish to have a one-to-one discussion about your son/daughter’s options.
• 5:00pm – Forms J, O, H, N
• 5:45pm – Forms P, R, T, S
• 6:30pm – Forms C, L, E, W (please note that there will be no opportunity after this final presentation to visit the Faculties/subject displays)
Friday 19th January - Deadline for Options Forms
Once your son/daughter has made their preferred options choices, she/he should complete the Student Option Form and hand it to their Form Tutor. Please note that for a course to run, a viable number of students need to have opted to study the subject. The school will also check the preferred choices to ensure that all students follow the most appropriate curriculum for them. As such, the final option choices will be confirmed at a later date.
From Monday 22nd January – Confirmation of choices
Senior leaders, subject leaders and the Year 9 team will check every Options Form to ensure that every student is on the most suitable curriculum to meet their individual needs.
